FOOD DATA

To help you with your food choices here is some data on a couple of more problematic plant toxins, glycemic and insulin indexes and carbohydrate, fat and protein content in foods. Please note that when it comes to plant toxins I only included 2 types - lectins and oxalates, for other toxins, such as ones included in nightshades, which some people can't tolerate, please do your research.

In the first table you can find data for most meat and dairy products for carbohydrate, protein and fat content, or you can use one of the online sources, such as this one ( please note the amounts are per serving size which usually is 100g of 1 cup ):

Note that calorie content is included but this is an insignificant marker on the carnivore diet - you should not count your calories ( as it's all about hormones ) - you can find out more here:

In the second table you can find:

  • lectin content

  • oxalates content

  • glycaemic index ( a scale from 0 to 100 that measures how quickly carbohydrate-containing foods raise blood sugar levels )

  • insulin index ( measures how much a food raises blood insulin levels within two hours of consumption, reflecting the body’s insulin response beyond just carbohydrate content )

Here is the full spreadsheet: https://mega.nz/fm/inp22YhQ

A quick note - please remember that even though certain foods might be low on these indexes, they might still have a ton of added sugars, flavourings, enhancements etc. So it's important that you start looking at the list of ingredients when making your food choices.

Also - for a lot of the below foods these are approximate and not exact amounts - for example - there can be different brands of vanilla puddings, and therefore there can be different ingredients and amounts of sugars added into them.
